Today was amazing! We had a 5 hour drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound. The drive was beautiful – we made a lot of stops. Once we finally got there, it looked just as pretty as all the pictures I've seen – only bigger than I even imagined. I was totally in awe. We had a couple of hours to walk around the area and take (a million) pictures. Then we got on the ship for our overnight cruise. The took us out into the sound and the boat was able to take us right up about 10 feet from the waterfalls because only a few meters from the mile-high peaks, the water is already 800 feet deep. And some dolphins came right up to our boat and were following us around! Then we anchored for the night, and were able to take some kayaks out for a little exploring – that was neat. We had a really nice dinner with an Australian couple that were really funny – they were both doctors and telling us we had better hurry up and start having kids! Then we went out on the boat deck in the complete silence and pitch black to watch the stars – we were the only boat on the water, and the nearest town is 100 miles away – it was so neat!
